Gold

CLARTE´ ethically and sustainably sources, manufactures, and uses only the finest solid 14K and 18K gold available in North America. The karat number indicates the purity of the gold. 14-karat gold is 14/24 pure gold, or 58.33% pure gold. The remaining percentage is an alloy that has been added to improve the durability of naturally soft gold, allowing us to guarantee our gold for life. 14K is a great obtainable option without sacrificing quality.18-karat gold is made up of 18/24, or 75% pure gold. 18K is the closest you can get to pure gold while still retaining strength and radiance. Pure gold (24-karat) is too soft to be worn as jewelry, so alloys are used to improve its durability. Any gold that is not used in the creation of our handcrafted pieces is recycled in order to reduce our carbon footprint.

Care
- Take a soft lint-free cotton cloth or toothbrush
- Scrub very gently with warm water.
- Pat dry.

Platinum

CLARTE´ only uses PT950 platinum, the highest grade available. Platinum is the only precious metal used in fine jewelry that is up to 95 percent pure, making it the purest metal available. It also doesn't add any color of its own, which complements the Precious and Semi-Precious stones with which it is paired. It is also the most durable precious metal available.

Care
- Mix a few drops of mild detergent-free soap with warm water.
- Use a soft toothbrush or lint-free cotton cloth to scrub gently.
- After that, give the platinum a good rinse.
- Pat dry with a clean lint-free cotton cloth.

Precious & Semi-Precious Stones

CLARTE´ ensures that all of our Precious stones namely ruby, sapphires, emeralds etc and Semi-Precious stones namely tanzanites, blue topaz, amethyst, citrine, etc are sourced from the best sources in the world, such as Sri Lanka, Africa, and India. Precious and semi-precious stones are distinguished by their high quality, scarcity, and their unique color. Only four precious stones exist: diamond, sapphire, ruby, and emerald. As a result, all other stones are classified as semi-precious. This distinction also stems from their hardness, which translates into scratch resistance. The Mohs scale, which ranks minerals from 1 to 10, is used to determine hardness. The hardest stones are diamond (10/10), ruby (9/10), sapphire (9/10), and emerald (7.5-8/10). Nonetheless, all stones are fragile and must be handled with a lot of care.

Care
-Mix a few drops of mild detergent-free soap with warm water.
-Take a soft lint-free cotton cloth or toothbrush and scrub very gently.
-Rinse thoroughly and gently.
-Wipe with a soft lint-free cotton cloth (dry completely).

frequently asked questions

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GOLD AND PLATINUM?
Despite the fact that both gold and platinum are powerful and long-lasting precious metals, platinum is the more durable of the two. This is due to its extremely high density and chemical structure. Secondly, platinum is the only precious metal that, when used in fine jewelry, can be up to 95 percent pure. When used in fine jewelry, gold can only achieve a maximum purity of 75% (18k). This is due to the fact that pure gold (24-karat) is too soft to wear as jewelry. If you have the means, platinum is the way to go. It's a classic, high-end metal that requires little upkeep! If platinum is out of your price range, gold is a wonderful, obtainable precious metal that has been used for hundreds of years! In the end, neither metal will let you down in terms of quality or value.
